Common Features
- Consistent particle size distribution: With a d50 of 45-55 microns, Si 50 is a homogenous packing that produces a more even flow rate for a better separation providing a more concentrated collected product reducing solvent consumption-yielding a double cost saving.
- Consistently low fines level: Yielding a more regular, stable and reproducible purification bed reducing the risk of blocked frits and the risk of silica being collected along with your product. A resulting reduced backpressure of the purification column gives a faster flow rate for a better purification.
- Consistently neutral pH: The pH of Si 50 silica gel is 6.5 - 7.0, comparing favorably to other suppliers' silica pH of 6.0 to 7.0. A neutral pH is necessary to separate pH sensitive compounds. pH’s as low as 5.7 have been observed from some competitors.
- Consistently low metals level: No peak tailing from trace metals as a result of the reduced interaction between trace metals and your compound.
- Consistently high surface area: Provides the greatest separation power.
- Consistently tight pore size distribution: Produces tight compound bands after loading on a column. Tight pore size distribution is particularly important for molecular size separation of compounds.
